After reading Howie Carr’s book, The Brothers Bulger, I became fascinated with true cr. Looking for more, my search brought me to Boston Confidential. After I realized Barry had several years of podcasts, I started binging on his many, fascinating podcasts. Now that I have to rely on once a week episodes I sometimes listen to other true crime podcasts. Nobody comes close to Barry. He’s entertaining, honest, and is definitely gifted for this platform. I’ve read several of the books he’s recommended, and I have followed his lead on my of the crimes he’s outlined. I also like his special guest interviews, such as Aiden “Turtleboy” Kearney and Michelle MacPhee. Barry doesn’t waste e, jumping right in to each episode. Unlike other true crime podcasts, Barry is never vulgar or offensive, unlike other podcasters who feel the need for “f bombs” to make their point. When it comes to true crime, this is it! Barry is the real deal.
